Gayle : « J’ai choisi le nom « Radio Courbe » — suivant les ondes hertziennes de l’émetteur inventé par Marconi qui passent à travers et autour des obstacles, étant très fluides. Alors que les premières ondes radio-électriques de Hertz allaient en ligne droite. [1] »

Gayle Austin [4] worked at the Jays until the purge of 1990. She has a BA in media, communications and culture studies and is completing an MA (Hons) at Macquarie University. Her thesis is an analysis of Triple J’s first 16 years ; she si now radio consultant at Self Employed and have created her own air since 2011.

[2] Gayle Austin est la journaliste de Sydney qui a programmé sur les ondes de la radio nationale 2JJ — ou Double Jay — relai de la parole indépendante et de la rock musique de la contre-culture australienne dans les années soixante-dix, ce pourquoi la chaîne finit par suspendre l’émission et la dissoudre puis disperser l’équipe à la suite d’un changement d’administration ; ce fut ici la première apparition de la radio australienne Triple J qui reprise diffuse pour la jeunesse plus conforme aujourd’hui.
