Philip Weiss est un journaliste vétéran, éditorialiste et écrivain, et le fondateur et co-éditorialiste du magazine sur Internet d’actualités spécialisées en politique étrangère des Etats-Unis et du Moyen Orient Mondoweiss.net - The War of Ideas in the Middle East (La guerre des idées au Moyen Orient).
Weiss est l’auteur du roman Cock-a-Doodle-Doo (1996) et du livre d’investigation documentaire American Taboo : A Murder In The Peace Corps (Tabou américain : Un assassinat dans le "Corps de la Paix") (2004). Il a co-édité The Goldstone Report : The Legacy of the Landmark Investigation of the Gaza Conflict (Le Rapport Goldstone : L’héritage de l’investigation des points de repère dans le conflit de Gaza) — sur l’attaque "Plomb durci" en 2009 — (2011), avec Adam Horowitz, Lizzy Ratner, Naomi Klein, et les autres.
Weiss a écrit pour le New York magazine, Harper’s, Esquire, et The New York Observer.
En 2006 il commença à écrire un blog quotidien pour The New York Observer intitulé Mondoweiss, website qui commence à se focaliser sur les questions juives dans les politiques des Etats-Unis au Moyen Orient, tel l’article "the Iraq disaster and my Jewishness, Zionism, neo-conservatism, Israel, Palestine" (la catastrophe en Irak et ma judéité, le sionisme, le néoconservatisme, Israël, la Palestine). Au printemps 2007, il commença Mondoweiss sous la forme d’un blog indépendant qui devint "un site de nouvelles dédié à couvrir la politique étrangère américaine au Moyen Orient, principalement dans une perspective juive progressiste". In 2006 he began writing a daily blog called Mondoweiss for The New York Observer, website which began to focus on Jewish issues in American foreign policies in the Mid East, such as "the Iraq disaster and my Jewishness, Zionism, neo-conservatism, Israel, Palestine." In the spring of 2007, he began Mondoweiss as an independent blog which became "a news website devoted to covering American foreign policy in the Middle East, chiefly from a progressive Jewish perspective".
